Alicia Enciso Litschi, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist; accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans.
I am passionate about working with adults who want to feel more fully at home, grounded, and thriving in their mind, body, and soul. I offer an integrative and intuitive approach that combines psychotherapy with soulwork. I am a good fit for people who are curious about their inner worlds and are interested in cultivating whole and authentic lives. Change is daunting, and I believe the fruits of the inner journey are incomparable. My work is strongly rooted in attachment and somatic perspectives. I also offer sandtray therapy, centering and meditative practices, and other creative approaches to facilitate healing that includes left and right brain integration.
I welcome the fullness of you into the therapy room, honoring diverse and intersecting identities.
Many of my clients are working through the following issues:
My work is inevitably influenced by my life experiences. I grew up in a small city on the Arizona-Mexico border. Throughout my life, I have gravitated to spiritual and healing teachers, from Zen Buddhist masters to traditional Mexican healers. After a few years of living and studying in Zen communities, I realized that becoming a mature spiritual practitioner also requires that we do our psychological work and heal those old wounds that resurface time and time again. My studies led me to the doctoral program in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. I conducted my dissertation research on the the healing traditions of Mexican curanderismo, emphasizing that Western psychology has a lot to learn from Indigenous knowledge systems. After earning my Ph.D., I worked for UT's Counseling Mental Health Center as a staff psychologist before entering private practice. I come to this work with great enthusiasm for journeys of self-discovery.
